Privacy Policy
StylusLog is developed and operated by OÜ ACD ENTERTAINMENT, a company
registered in Estonia (registry code 12067736), “we” in this policy. It
covers the StylusLog app for Android (package app.styluslog)
and this website.
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no trackers.
- Your recordings stay on your phone until you share them.
- The app goes online only to look records up on Discogs.
- Purchases go through Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- We don’t sell or share your data, and we don’t collect any for ourselves unless you email us.
What stays on your phone
Everything StylusLog makes is stored on your device:
- the sides you record, and the tracks you export, in
Music/StylusLog; - your albums, their quality reports, the album details you picked on Discogs, and your stylus hours;
- your settings, and whether you’ve unlocked Pro.
None of this is sent to us. StylusLog doesn’t include its data in Android’s
cloud backup. The files in Music/StylusLog are ordinary music
files: apps you’ve allowed to read your music, a computer you connect the
phone to, and any backup you’ve set up yourself can see them.
A file leaves the phone only when you share it, through Android’s share sheet, to the app or person you choose. What happens to it then is up to you and that service.
Discogs lookups
To name an album and its tracks, StylusLog searches Discogs’ public catalogue. When you search, the app sends what you type (or the release link you paste) and, once you pick one, that release’s number to Discogs’ API, and loads the cover images from Discogs’ image server.
These requests go straight from your phone to Discogs. They carry no account, login or identifier of yours. Like any website, Discogs receives your IP address with them. Discogs handles them under its own privacy policy. StylusLog is not affiliated with Discogs.
The app doesn’t go online for anything else. Recording, splitting, the quality report, restoration and export all run on the phone.
Purchases
The Pro unlock is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google handles the payment under the Google Privacy Policy. The app only asks Google Play whether Pro is owned on your account. Google gives us the order records we need for refunds and accounting, never your card details.
Feedback emails
If you tap Send feedback, StylusLog opens your own email app with a message to us and a diagnostic log attached. Nothing is sent unless you send that email, and you can read or remove the attachment first. The log holds:
- the app version, your phone’s make and model, and its Android version;
- the USB audio devices plugged in at the time, and the recording settings in use (sample rate, bit depth);
- whether Pro is unlocked and how many albums you have;
- how the app’s recent runs ended (for example, a crash), and the app’s own technical log.
It contains no recordings. We receive your email address and whatever you write, use them only to answer you and fix the problem, and delete them on request.
Permissions
- USB: to record from the turntable, preamp or interface you plug in. Android asks you before StylusLog can use a device.
- Notifications and a foreground service: to keep recording with the screen off, and to show that a recording is running.
- Internet: for the Discogs lookups above.
StylusLog doesn’t use the phone’s microphone, and doesn’t ask for permission to.
This website
styluslog.app has no cookies, analytics or third-party content; even its fonts are served from this site. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical data any web server needs (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
Children
StylusLog isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling StylusLog removes the data Android keeps for the app, such
as its settings. Your recordings and exported tracks in Music/StylusLog stay until you
delete them yourself, so they aren’t lost with the app. To have your emails
to us deleted, write to the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that affects what leaves your phone will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
